The Principles We Stand For:
In the Knights of Columbus, we are more than a group of men, we are a brotherhood united under the timeless and enduring truths of our Catholic faith. Anchored by the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism, our mission extends beyond the physical world, as we strive to mirror Christ's love, courage, and sacrifice in our daily actions.
1. Charity: Our faith teaches us that the greatest of all virtues is charity. As Knights, we strive to embody this divine love, reaching out to those in need, not out of obligation, but out of a heartfelt desire to reflect God's compassion. In each act of charity, we see the face of Christ in the least of our brothers and sisters. We become His hands and feet on earth, continuing His mission of love and service.
2. Unity: As members of the body of Christ, we believe in the power of unity. In unity, we echo the prayer of Jesus that we all may be one, just as He is one with the Father. It is this unity that empowers us to stand together, sharing our strengths and compensating for each other's weaknesses. Our unity is a testament to our faith, a reflection of the Holy Trinity's divine union, and a beacon of hope in a divided world.
3. Fraternity: The Knights of Columbus is a family, a brotherhood committed to supporting and caring for one another in times of joy and sorrow. The bonds we share go beyond mere friendship; they are spiritual ties, a brotherhood rooted in our shared Catholic faith. This fraternity manifests the communion of saints, reminding us that we are not alone in our journey of faith, but part of a grand spiritual family spanning time and eternity.
4. Patriotism: Our love for our homeland is not merely civic duty; it's an expression of our faith. We strive to build a society that upholds the sanctity of life, the dignity of the individual, and the promotion of justice and peace. As Knights, we are called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world, actively participating in the life of our nation to shape it in accordance with Gospel values.
We are Knights of Columbus, Catholic gentlemen called to be saints among everyday men. We invite you to join us in this noble quest. Be a Knight, be a beacon of faith, a pillar of service, and a champion of truth in a world in dire need of hope and love. Take up the cross, wear the armor of God, and join us in our mission to bring the love of Christ to all corners of the world. Stand with us, and together, let us become the hands of Christ, reaching out to a world yearning for love, unity, fraternity, and peace.
